Something new for 2012

Hello everyone

Today I took the plunge and joined a slimming class, I opted for Rosemary Conley because the time is good for me and I wanted to get as much for my money as I could, so at least this way I get to exercise as well as be weighed. I will update my blog each Thursday with my progress so anyone else embarking on a weight loss journey can join in and not be alone!

Well as all dieters know it is important to keep a food journal whilst trying to lose weight so as not to kid yourself and to highlight your pitfall times etc! Welll being a crafter I could not just have a notebook, oh no, I covered a dull and plain notebook and transformed it into something more interesting. Want to see?

I have used lots of exciting new products on this project, can you spot them? I have used some Designer series paper that will be available on 24th Jan yes thats right its a SAB DSP! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper. I know can you believe I love a paper. It also incorproates the lush new key trinkets, a sweet stamp set called Charming, as well as old time favs such as embossing folders, ting tags, oval punch, tag punch, lace ribbon, ruffled ribbon, pearls, seam binding ribbon, antique brads and taffeta ribbon. WOW what a lot of goodies - lucky me! Colour combo is Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade & Poppy Parade. Lush Lush Lush.

Edited to say something was missing so i added 3 flowers what do you reckon?????

Right I am off to the supermarket to buy all the food I am allowed - I think I may be hungry whilst I get used to it! Still if I don't change anything I will not change and I desperately want to change my shape!

Back to Craft Club

Last night was our first Craft Club of 2012 and it was lush to catch up with my lovely ladies. Here is the One Sheet Wonder projects we made.

The great thing with a one sheet wonder is that you can very quickly make 6 or 7 cards. We started by stamping a A4 sheet of Very Vanilla card stock with the NEW spiced paisley stamp set. The colour combo is So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand. We then used the Birthday Wishes (Hostess Stamp set) to add greetings to all the cards. A few punches, a little piece of ribbon and viola 6 cards plus 1 left over square all completed within 2 hours!

Sneak Peak

Hello again I know 3 days in a row - it must be New Year! Either that or April Fools.

I have been busy in my craft room for a couple of hours today making thank you cards for my up and coming January Hostesses. As a demonstrator (another great reason to become a demo - call me to discuss it - you know you want to) I have been lucky enough to pre order some of the gorgeous new Sale A Bration goodies that you can choose free with every £45 spend from 24th Jan. I am soooo in love with the paper and surprisingly for me also in love with Fresh Vintage, one of the exclusive SAB sets.

New Mini Catalogue is here...

This mini catalogue is full of gorgeous new products, including our simply adorned jewellery range. But my favourite has to be the stamp sets - wow there are some beauties. As a treat my lovely and loyal Saturday class attendees got to play with the new products at our last class, want to see what we made?

Of course you do...

This first card uses the fabby new 2 3/8'' scallop circle punch! Plus the new velvet ribbon, the Spiced paisley stamp set, the Spice cake DSP plus several of our existing products - ribbon edge punch, 1 3/4'' scallop circle punch, 1'' circle punch, tiny tags stamp set. The colour combo is Soft Suede and Pear Pizzaz.

The second card was a card designed and demonstrated by our founder Shelli Gardner. This was one of my fav projects at convention and I for one couldn't wait to purchase the postage stamp punch just to recreate this beauty. New products used Pocketful of Posies DSP and postage stamp punch. Existing products also used Antique designer brads, Newsprint DSP, Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set, spritzer tool, espresso marker. Colour combo Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.

The third card is made using the super sweet Easter Blossoms Stamp set. The colour combo is Regal Rose and Basic Black. The products used are Easter Blooms stamp set, Basic Black ink, Scallop oval punch and oval punch, plus the scallop edge punch.

The fourth card showcases the fabby Marry Me stamp set. This card is my version of the one shown in the mini catalogue I had already used too many variations of blue and brown to make another card in those colours so I change the colours to Blushing Bride (how apt), Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. with a little espresso heart. Products used are vintage wallpaper embossing folder, basic pearls card stock vellum, heart to heart punch, brayer with soft suede ink.

The fifth card uses my favourite stamp set from the new mini My Friend, and whilst everyone agreed it was a lovely card it was not as easy to create as it looks! I like to thrown a curl ball in occasionally. The colour combo for this card is Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. This card also uses the shadow technique to create the lovely hue around the hello. Products used 1 3/8'' circle punch, 1'' circle punch 3/4'' circle punch. Soft Subtle buttons and a thin piece of card was cut to tie through the button.

The final card of the morning was definitely the classes favourite. This showcases the gorgeous new charming stamp set plus the fabby new blossom party BS die. The colour combo is Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. We also used the spotty embossing folder, antique brads, the 2 square punches as well as markers to ink up the flower image in two colours.

Happy New Year

Well out with the old and in with the new, that is how the saying goes. But today I would like to share some of my treasured christmas cards that I received from friends, customers & team members. Each one made me smile - thank you to each and everyone who took the time to send me a handmade card.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported my business throughout 2011, it has been a pleasure to meet everyone and even more special to now be able to call many of you friends.

Did you make any resolutions this year? I know I did!

Would you like me to share them?
1. To be more organised (to those in the know - my shelf is still bare but it won't be!)
2. To loss weight and be able to do all the things I wish/want to do without worrying about my size
3. To try to find something to be happy about every day and enjoy the moments no matter how big or small they are.

I hope today was easier for you to get back into the swing of things, I can honestly say I have found today hard work and that is doing something I love I hate to think about the poor people who went back to their daily routines today not enjoying their work!

Feeling much better now

Hi Ladies

I am still here, so if you thought you had got rid of me tough luck, tee hee. I have had an amazing month, spent time with some very lovely ladies, been to the SU European convention and then I came down with a tummy bug! Yuck! The bug has wiped me out for just over a week so I have a very long to do list! One of the things at the top is to update my blog! So here I am. Where to begin.. well I will tell you a little bit about convention and then I will be back tomorrow with projects.
This years convention was in Disneyland Paris - an amazing place to meet up with lots of lovely ladies. The first evening I joined my upline Amanda and her team for a team dinner and mini award ceremony! Wow it was a great evening, spent with lovely ladies who all made the most amazing swaps. Here is mine...

I made everyone in our team a little mini book to record all their adventures in. I think everyone liked them.

I was very honoured this year to share a room with the very lovely and uber talented Liz, she is a proper treasure! She was asked to demonstrate a workshop WOW on main stage - that is how awesome she is! So my big challenge was what do I make her as a room gift? Well I have been wanting to make one of these for a while so I made one for Liz, want to see it?

These photos are stolen off Liz's blog because being the dippy doughnut I am I forgot to take any piccies.

And wow what did I get in return, well as I said this lady is pure genius! Here are my beautiful room gifts, the attention to detail is amazing and I will treasure them forever!

During Convention, we had lots of tips, ideas and training as well as laughs, tears and awards. On the Friday eve we attended the annual gala dinner. Want to see us all dressed up? Here is a piccie of me, Liz and our wonderful upline Amanda. Liz is the one with the Minnie Mouse ears! She is such a huge fan of Disney!

I was delighted and very surprised to be in the top ten demonstrators of the year this year. I was place no 8 - a massive jump from last years 19! So to say I was thrilled was an understatement, so a massive thank you to all my customers, downline and friends for helping make this happen. I came home with lots of new stamps sets to play with so watch this space for some new creations.

On the Saturday we had more training and tips, I was honoured to be ask to co present a break out group with all the UK demos with the lovely and talented Zoe Tant. We tried to give everyone tips and hints on the ideal workshop! This was a challenge but hopefully we raised to it ok. Certainly the feedback I have been given so far has been good so it must have been alright!

During convention we also learnt the dates for Sale A Bration, this will be held 24th Jan - 31st March 2012, which is a slight shift from the last 2 years. I and taking workshop bookings NOW for those dates so please don't delay if you want to hold a SAB workshop!

We also learnt that we will be having 2 YES 2 mini catalogues this year the first one starting 1st January, and as a demo I am able to pre order from Thursday - I love being a demo and getting my hands on new stuff early! Ok I think I may have to call it a night now and pop back tomorrow with some of the gorgeous swaps I received. Another fabby part of all SU events is swapping with other demos. There are some very talented ladies out there!

Extravaganza 2011

This card came about when i visited the lovely jane's blog, she had made a similar one using the Halloween papers and I couldn't resist having a go myself. This uses the gorgeous new DSP called timeless portrait. Stunning papers which I am sure you will be seeing more of. The papers have been punched with the 2 square punches, then the corner have been rounded off of two corners. Love the idea and can see myself using up lots of scraps doing this more. Thanks jane.

Not sure what is going on

It appears a phone post I did last week has just appeared on my blog, only a week late! This is just typical of my life over the last few weeks. I am sorry I have been missing in action, it has been a busy few weeks. Lots of exciting things, one or two annoying things and one very sad and time consuming thing.
Exciting have you all seen, received or sneaked a look at the new Stampin up catalogue - WOW. I love this one more than all the previous ones. There is sooooo much new stash I need. I will be back every day this week with new product peaks.
Annoying things my hubby's mid life crisis is affecting us all now! For those of you not in the know, my hubby is having a mid life crisis, he went out 12 mths ago and purchased himself a 2 seated Porsche ( yes I hear you say 2 seats! For a family of 4!) Not a major factor in our life apart from when he needs to use my car at the same time he needs it and heaven forbid i taken his precious!
So the battle of the car continues to drive (tee hee) me and my daughter insane. Son thinks dads car is mint so no prob there!
And lastly the sad, our bunny died. We had 2 bunnies almost six months ago now, Georgia saw them being born and has nurtured them ever since. Well 10 days ago one of the bunnies turned very aggressive and firstly bite Georgia then later same day attacked the other bunny. No idea why but it continue for a few days resulting in us taking the injured bunny to the vets. Long story short fidget (bunny) went into shock and died. Very sad but the up side is the bunny we are left with has reverted back to normal! Very strange.
So that's my excuses for being MIA. Here's a picture of one of my fav sets from the new cattie pennant parade. This set is sooo versatile and I am sure you will be seeing it a lot.

Saturday saw my monthly card making all day class, now I am incredibly grateful to all of my customers for the support they give me in my business and I think it is only right to give back once in a while so on Saturday we used all the new in colours, and a few of the new stamps, papers etc. So if you do not want to see any spoilers please look away I am scheduling a post everyday this week with at least one of the cards we made.

So many thank yous

This week I have had lots of thank you cards to make and send, thank you for ordering, thanks for hosting a workshop, thanks for visiting our stand at Bristol the list goes on. So I thought it would be a fab idea to make some with a sneak peak of some of our gorgeous new products coming on 1st oct. I love being a demo as we get our hands on a select selection of new products a whole month before customers. Just one of the many perks!
So here is the card I came up with using pennant parade and the co ordinating punch. Using none other than 3 of the new in colours. Lucky limeade, island indigo and pool party. Lush combo.

Last night was our regular fortnightly craft club. I do enjoy these Monday night get togethers, there always seems to be a tale or two. Here are the projects we made last night.

Supplies;
Stamp: French foliage, thankyou kindly
Ink/card: More mustard, Cherry cobbler, Early espresso, Cajan craze, River rock.
Accessories: Spritzer, daubers

We used one of my favourite techniques to create the leaves - rock and roll!

Next up was one for the girls.
Supplies:
Stamp: Crazy for cupcakes
Ink/ card: Real red, Pretty in pink, Whisper White
Accessories: Real red ribbon, circle die, circle punch, playdate DSP, Dazzling diamonds, 2 way glue, blender pen, platinum shimmer paint. Markers

Supplies:
Stamps: Sail away, Sincere salutations
Ink/card: Rose red, Bashful blue, Whisper white, Card Vellum.
Accessories: Clear embossing powder, black Stazon, neutral brads, Subtles paper stack, scallop oval punch oval punch and designer label punch.
For this card we used the stained glasses technique.

Lastly we made a distressed flower card.

A special make n take for a very special lady

I was honoured last week to be asked to hold a workshop at the lovely Jacky's house, so I put my thinking cap on and incoporated a technique she wanted to do with a new colour combo I thought Jacky and her friends would like....

The technique is called stained glass and we have made the bee look very life like by using this technique.

Notably Ornate Class - Sat afternoon

Our Saturday afternoon class revolves around a stamp set that the ladies get to take home as part of the class costs. This month we centred our class around Notably Ornate, whilst this is a fab stamp set for scrapbookers I also love it for gently distressed card and gifts.

What is difficult to see in the piccies os how sparkly they all are - I have generously spritzed all the cards with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and champagne shimmer mist. I love how this makes everything sparkly! As you can see we have also done lots of gentle distressing. I must admit to preferring gentle distressing to the full on messy distressing! I will never forget the inital training I had with Amanda to learn how to distress and whilst I can see the benefit in distressing there is still a part of me that will say 'why?'

Here is a simple but effective card using Strength & hope our charity stamp set. I love how easy this card is to create and yet how stunning it is. It will also work in numerous colours which can be a fab starting point for new crafters.

Sunday update

Hi everyone

I am sorry I have not blogged as I had planned over the last few days - life has hit a sudden hurdle. My father in law has passed away, this has been very sudden, it all started 10 days ago when he was taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack. For the following week he was up and down but we all thought he would make it home then on Wed of this week they gave him a fortnight at most to live - well as you can imagine life has been a roller coaster ever since. He sadly passed away in the early hours of Friday morning at peace at least. I have been playing with my new daisies die - which I LOVE! My fav flowers are Lillies or Gerberas so I thought I would have a go at a bright pink gerbera and I love how it has turned out. I have added some sparkle by mixing a few drops of champange shimmer paint with rubbing alcohol, mixing in a bottle and spraying directly onto the flower. I love this effect.

To achieve the definition in each petal I have daubered each and every petal, this is time consuming but it definately adds the wow factor.

How quickly has this year flown by, it doesn;t seem long ago I was getting ready for the Newbury show 2010 and here it is again. Thank you to all the lovely ladies that visited us at the weekend, we were swamped thank you!

Hi everyone,

How bad a blogger have I been. I am sorry life has been hectic! My poor father in law has had a heart attack - poor man is desperately ill. I have been busy preparing for the Artstamps show in Newbury, which is running today and tomorrow - POP along and join us its fabby!

And I have been busy designing the above album as a present for my lovely Upline Amanda Fowler. I am in the process of typing up a tutorial so if you would like to re produce it please email me hayleygillie@live.com and I will happily add you to the list of ladies wanting the details. It is likely to be £2.50 for a very detailed instruction tutorial.

alternatively I am running a 8 hour class where you can come along and make one with me step by step. Bath Midnight 10km Walk

I must be mad! I have just signed up to do the Bath 10km Midnight Walk, this may not seem too mad to some of you that haven't met me but for those of you that know me - this is a big shock! Craft Club

Tonight was our fortnightly card club, I wanted to post this card because it made us all laugh tonight, I post the rest tomorrow. The card itself was inspired by the very talented Elaine. It wasn't the card itself that made us laugh it was the difference between my demo one and the one I made tonight - Definately a Weight Watchers before and after.

Good morning

I swear this is not a great year for my family's health - all little ailments so far so at least that is something to be grateful for. I now have my hubby off sick with cellulitis, if he doesn't improve in the next 24 hours he will have to go into hospital for 2/3 days for an intravenious drip! So by the time he is able to go back to work it will be half term - another week of unlimited interuptions! Still I really mustn't complain there are many people in the world with it far worse.

On to craft related stuff - I had a fabby time in Brecon at the weekend with 6 wonderful ladies, Paula was the hostess and then there was Madge, Lyn, Julie, Avril & Jan. So excited...

I think I may pop! I have just booked my place to convention and secured myself a fabby roomie, Liz see her wonderful work here. Why am I so excited about this well, firstly it is in Disneyland, Paris! It is also 3 days of pure crafting heaven, where I get to meet up with lots of the demos from Europe. We will have lots of swapping, free stamps, loads of fantastic demos showing us new techniques and fabby things to share with our customers. Along with an awards dinner where we all get to dress up posh and see some of our friends get awards and if we are really lucky an award for ourselves.

What a week!

Well where do I start, this week has been full on! Ryan's team lost the final last week but we still partied well into the early hours to celebrate the achievement of making the final and reminded them that they would be picking up the League Winner Trophies this week.

Blogger has been down for a few days this week as well so I could blame that for my lack of posts but the truth is I just haven't had time to post anything - how naughty - must try harder!

So to make up for it here is the project I am off to make at Pam's house with some of her lovely friends.

Its nearly a year since I last made of of these and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed making them last time. I hope you like it. In case you want to have a go here are the measurements:

1. Start with a 12 by 12 piece of card/thick Designer Paper, score at 5'' and 7'' and then turn 90 degrees and score at 2 3/4'' and 9 1/4''.

2. Cut down the and stick down. Then cut 1 1/4 off each side of the top panel and score at 3/4'' and 11 1/4'' on the bottom panel. It should look like this..

3. Cut the pockets for the insides, 8 1/2'' by 4 1/2'' score at 1'' on the 2 short sides plus one of the long sides. Next cut 5 3/4'' by 2'' & 4 3/4'' by 2'' and score at 1/2'' and 1'' at the ends.

4. To make the lid cut a piece of card 10 5/8'' by 6 1/8'' and score at 2''. I have used Baja Breeze card and then decorated it with SpringTime Vintage DSP.

Off to the Cup Final

Wish our boys luck - we are off to Swindon Town Football club for my son and his team to play in the U11 North Wilts Cup Final. They have to play on the full size pitch but they get to change in the changing rooms and they are very excited. Win or lose it will be a fabby occassion but it would be so much sweeter of they could win!

One for the boys

Bank Holiday Monday

Hello I hope your bank holiday weekend is going better than mine. We have had so much fun don't get me wrong, but Ryan has injured his knee and we spent the whole afternoon yesterday at A&E getting it checked over. This doesn't seem too bad except he is due to play on the County Ground (Swindon's home pitch) next Saturday in the U11's cup final and at the moment it is looking unlikely he'll play. He is byside himself with worry, we go from happy smiles because he hasn't broken his knee to complete terror that he may not play next weekend, then come the tears! It's really hard to watch especially as there is nothing we can do. He has exercises to do and the rest is just wait and see.

Anyway onto the crafting, here are another few cards we made at Card Club this month...

The next card I wanted to have a scalloped border on all sides but I couldn't work out the dimensions but the lovely Sandra did for us so next time this so if you want a scallop border on the bottom layer start with a piece of card 99cm by 133cm.

This was our technique this month at card club, shadow effects and how to achieve the sun's natural highlights through the trees without being an artist! I am no artist but I love how our watercolour paper makes this technique so easy. I hope you like the card.

Back for good

Don't you just love Take That! Anyway that was quite a tangent to go off on. I am back all computered up and with lots of photos to share with you. Yippee! I felt as if I had had a limb surgically removed but that is now all solved. I have updated my side panel with the long awaited instructions for my card organiser and ladies that came to my Extravaganza they have been emailed to you. My next project to write up will be the slider box and matching cards but that will have to wait til tomorrow as I have been alseep all morning and in my craft room all afternoon and I'll be pushing my luck not to spend time with his lordship soon.

I know sleeping all morning is a really lazy thing to do but I am not as young as I used to be and I find the only way to avoid a stinking hangover after drinkig 2 yes 2 bottles of wine is to sleep lots!!! That's my excuse anyway. Wasn't the wedding yesterday lovely, did it remind you of your wedding day and fall in love all over again?? It certainly did for me. I was crying last a sap at Prince William's look opf pure pride at marrying his bride and although my hubby may not admit to it that is how he looked at our wedding day so I was crying for both weddings the royal one and mine 12 years ago tomorrow!

This card was inspired by a card I saw over on ILWS a while ago, it folds up to fit into a 15cm square envelope.

Supplies:

Stamp - Just Believe

Card/Ink/Markers - Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White.

Accessories -Large Oval Punch, Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon, Trimmer and bone folder.

My computer died!

What a week! My computer has fatally caught a virus and has died! So I had to go shopping for a new one, this is itself is more hassle than its worth - Still I bought it Tuesday evening spent all evening setting it up most of yesterday crafting at PaperArts with the lovely Jane. (Hi Lorraine and friends), did a workshop for the lovely Belinda in Bristol and then came home to finish catching up on emails etc. Unfortunately this means I haven't got anything to show you now but I am off to photo some of my recent card class projects so I will be back later today with some lovely projects to show you so please pop back.

In the meantime if you are waiting for anything from me its gone in the post yesterday or today, and the promised instruction sheets for the card organiser and slider box and card set will follow over the weekend.

Stepper Box instructions as promised

To make this stepper box (this is not my design, there are many of these about, this is just how I do it)

1. Start with 4 squares of DSP measuring 20.5cm, 2 squares of DSP measuring 22cm, 1 sheet of Card 12'' by 6''.

2. Find the centre point of each square of DSP, I use a ruler, like this..

3. Next score the card at 3'' intervals like this..

4. Attach offcuts of DSP measuring 5 3/4'' by 2 3/4'' like this..

5. Next you need to make several folds in your DSP, (in this picture I have used a white piece of paper and a pencil to show the score lines), First fold all the corners into the middle. Like this..

6. Next fold all the corners to the fold line you have just made, like this...

7. Next fold all the corners back on them selves to the line you have just made, like this...

8. Next cut 2 parallel lines along opposite sides like this...

9. Repeat steps 5-8 with all 6 of your squares. You are now ready to start to put the boxes together. The easiest way to do this is to grab the 2 longer sides and fold them in to the middle, peg or hold together, like this...

10. Then fold the shorter sides over the top. like this...

11. Repeat this with all your boxes, making sure you put the larger 2 to one side. Fold the card along the score lines like this....

12. Begin to attach the boxes, I usually attach the top and bottom boxes first then fill in the middle, like this....

13. Your finished box should look something like this....

A lovely evening in Wales

Good morning, well I am back safe and sound from a lovely evening in Caerphilly, Wales. What a beautiful place. A huge thank you to June for making me so welcome and inviting a wonderful group of ladies around to her house for a workshop.

Here is one of the make n takes we made last night.

This is a really easy little box to make and it only takes one piece of A4 card before the decorating.

Instructions -

1. Cut a piece of card to 28cm by 18cm. Score along the long side at 4cm, 12cm, 16cm, 24cm. Then along the shorter side at 4cm & 14cm.

2. Cut each short score line up to the long score line. Attach red tape to make the bottom of the box.

3. Stick together so it looks like this

4. Next stick the lid together and add a finger hole with a 1'' circle punch.

5. Decorate as desired. I have used the top note die covered with the fun flowers from the new mini.

I hope you like this little project I know the ladies last night did.

I am sorry I haven't updated since Monday, my computer died! I have now reset it back to factory settings so yes I have officially lost everything - my photos, my files, all my how to do notes! Blast Blast and double blast!!!!!!! On a more positive note my new big shot arrived today - Yippee! So I am off to cheer myself up and play. What a weekend...

Saturday was my Extravaganza which 10 lovely ladies attended. This hopefully will explain why my recent postings have been less than usual.

As the numbers were lower than expected we held the event in my new craft room/studio/workspace. Which meant we could have the most amazing raffle for the ladies to win as no room costs!

This is my room before everyone arrived...set up with everyone's table gifts. (forgot to take a close up of those sorry) They were a flower decoration , a pillow case of mints and a tool tin with initials.

Next comes Carol's amazing giant doughnut, and yes it definitely tasted as good as it looks...

Project 1: An A5 card organiser

Here is another one in a different colour choice - everyone's was different.

This project is from a recent Ustamp event I did and loved so I shared it with my ladies exactly as it was. I loved the fact this showcased how adaptable the embossing folders can be - this project uses the square lattice folder, concord crush ink and a brayer! Fabby!

This drawer set and matching cards uses my fav paper from the new mini Springtime Vintage, when I first saw the paper i wasn't entirely convinced about it - it's a bit twee for me but I absolutely love how it came together for this project and I haven't stopped using it since!

Project 4....

This box opens to reveal a cascade of extra boxes, we all agreed this would make a fab way of making a small gift even more special!

Project 5....

It is with a special thanks to Michelle Last who designed this project and shared it with us at convention.

What a lovely couple of days I have just had, Monday eve I spent with my craft club girlies whom I love spending time with and this morning I was lucky enough to spend time with the fabby Lucy who is so excitable she is infectious! Here are a few of the things we made last night, plus a sneak peak at one of Saturday's Extravaganza projects....

This was one of the cards we made last night at Craft Club - I love the subtle effect of the watercolouring and wanted to add a pink pearl! But you can;t I hear you say SU don;t do pink pearls! I know but where there is a will there is a way!

I grabbed my trusty re inker, frost white shimmer paint, a treat cup and my blender pen. I mixed a couple of drops of re inker with the shimmer paint until I was happy with the colour then painted onto the pearls and left to dry - Voila pink pearls but also the opportunity to have any colour pearls you want to match your project! Yippee.

This month we used teh Newsprint DSP as a starting point for our scrapbook pages. I decided to tell the story of when my hubby and I were lucky enough to go to Paris for the world cup.

Card Club Project

This seemed to be the most popular card last night at Card Club. We revisited Brayering with some fabby results. This card is cased from the marvelous Heather Summers from Canada., who in turn I believe cased it from someone else! I love SU and the generosity of sharing our projects.

My new room worked even better than I had hoped and the ladies all had a lovely time. I have had a delivery today with new stamps that I can show you so do pop back over the next day or so and see what I've come up with.

Back from Chepstow

WOW what a fabby day! Thank you for making us so welcome and also a massive thank you to Alison, Jeanette, Pam And Carol who helped me on the day - you were awesome! Thank you. Pressies will be with you soon.
This post is very photo heavy I thought I would try to show you our display, always a difficult feat in photos!
This is the left hand view of our stand including a 6ft board of card samples (thank you to all the ladies who have given me swaps over the last few months this has really helped)

Getting ready for Chepstow

Well everything I am creating at the moment seems to be getting ready for April or Chepstow so at least I can share the Chepstow stuff with you...

Here is my DSP wreath, I have wanted to make one of these for ages so as Chepstow is just around the corner and I am hoping to catch people's attention I have made one..

You can't see it very well in the picture but I have covered it in shimmer mist so it sparkles as well.

Hi everyone

I have just realisied I have not blogged our latest scrapbook club choices, here is Michelle's version.

Now this was not for the faint hearted as it involved lots of cutting, sewing, distressing and general fiddliness BUT my goodness it was worth the effort! Stunning does not even begin to some it up!

I'll show you my effort tomorrow as it pales into insignificance next to Michelle but I do still like mine - its just different.

An Award....

A massive thank you to the lovely Pam who has kindly awarded me this. How fab is that. I now need to think about the 7 things about me and the 7 people I am going to pass this onto.

Well,
1. I used to be a weight watchers leader - I know!!!! Really! Looks like I forgot everything I used to tell everyone and then eat all the pies and more!
2. I have an addictive personalilty - this can be a good and a bad thing. One thing I have learnt is that I can NEVER have a credit card again!
3. I love having lots of people in my house. This can be kids for my kids to play with, or lovely crafters to share my love of paper.
4. I am helping to organise a street party for our street this year for the royal wedding and I am sooo excited about it.
5. I am still trying to pursuade my hubby I really do need 2 new tables for my craft room.
6. I am addicted to Diet Coke
7. I am going to Ladies Day at Ascot this year.

Craft Club Box Set

This is a fun project that we created last night at Craft Club. Craft Club runs every other Monday evening at my home from 7.30 - 9.30 at a cost of just £7.50. It has a limited number of attendees so booking is ESSENTIAL!

Twisted Easel Card

Wow where has the weekend gone! My kids broke up from school last Wednesday at 3pm and I really haven't stopped since then! I did mean to up date these pictures last week! Sorry!

These were the twisted easle cards I was trying to design last WOYWW. I finished them just in time to get the kids.

I was lucky enough to be able to show them to a group of lovely ladies hosted by the lovely Marion. I know they all enjoyed making them so I hope you will all enjoy seeing them.

I have a lovely box set prepped ready to do at Craft Club tonight so I will post that on here now to be scheduled for tomorrow so fingers crossed if you pop back there will be a box set of cards tomorrow featuring the gorgeous Love Letter DSP.

WOYWW -16th Feb

Well what's on my desk... I am in the process of making the very popular Twisted easel card that seems to be everywhere at the moment. I will update this post later with the finished version.

The nappies and baby lotion you see at the back are for me to make a nappy cake with at the weekend with my friend Michelle. Funny story there, the nappies were on my kitchen side where I had put them when I first got back from shopping. Well you should have seen the look on my kids faces! My son Ryan said '' What the hell! Have you got something to tell us?'' And Georgia well her eyes filled with tears and she said ''Are you having a baby mum?'' How funny!!

Off to get my kids ready for school now and give them both extra hugs today just in case! Will pop over and have a nosey at your blogs later.

Recipe

Stamps - Just Believe

Card - Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Whisper White

Ink - Versamark, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist

Accessories - Pearls, Scallop trim border punch, Marina Mist Ribbon, Word Window punch, clear eb, Heat Gun

Step 1.

Ink your chosen stamp with Versamark and stamp onto whisper white card, then heat emboss with clear ep.

Step 2.

Using an open ink pad and a dauber apply your first colour in a circular motion. Like this...

Step 3. Next take your second colour and start to apply colour in the same way like this...

Step 4. Over lap the two colours so they blend together. like this...

Step 5. Decorate as desired.

I am sure this is not new for any of you but sometimes we forget the good old techniques and it never hurst to be reminded.

What's On Your Worktop Wednesday...
Ok now I am only about 4 weeks late into my New Year Resolution to play along with WOYWW regularly. Still better late than never. My desk today has a mixture of projects on it. I am in the middle of making some customer thank you cards as you can see at the back, but while the crystal effects was drying I have been playing with something I saw Michelle Last do at training this weekend. Mine are not coming out as fab as her yet but i will keep practising and I'm sure it will come together. Why not pop back in a day or so and see the finsihed project.

Chocolate card..

As promised a tutorial for my chocolate card...

1. Start with a A4 piece of cardstock, cut along the shorter side to 6''. Score both sides at 3/4''. Then score along the long side at 3'' 6''(only to the score lines), 7 1/4'' 8 1/2'' 9 3/4'' and 11''.

2. Attach your chosen DSP to the third scored rectangle up. (see below)

3. Fold along the 3/4'' score lines, this enables the punch to squeeze further into the project.

4. Push 1'' circle punch in as far as it will go from the sides and punch.

5. Repeat from the other side.

6. Now trim so it looks like this...

7. Attach sticky strip to the back of the card level with the top cut/score line. (Like below)

8. Fold box up and adhere to sticky tape. Then stick the sides down. Tip to keep it looking neat it is best to fold the top down last. Remember to put your chocolate inside before you seal it!

9. Decorate as desired.

Ink - Early Expresso, Baja Breeze & Pink Pirouette.

Accessories - DSP Paper stack, Perals, 1'' Punch, sticky strip.

Accessories, Pretty in Pink & Wild Wasabi markers, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border punch, Word Window punch.

I hope you like it, I have inked up the stamp with my markers then using the same pens I have added a little highlighting to the image after it has been stamped to add extra depth.

Scrapbook Class

Well last night saw the first our my NEW monthly scrapbook classes - it was a quiet evening but a fab one none the less. We chatted lots, laughed more and then finally got around to completing our double page layout. Each month the ladies have a choice of 2 different kits based on a similar theme, this months was Christmas and here are the 2 samples Michelle and I made.

I love how the flower (I was aiming for a poinsettia but I think it ended up more Christmas rose) came out. By spritzing it with water and scrunching it up it gave the appearance of being silky.

Next month's club is on 15th Feb, at the Memorial Hall, Wootton Bassett 7 - 9.30 cost just £7.50. Everyone welcome, begininers as well as more experienced ladies. (both the layouts
above were made by 2 complete begininers to scrapbooking). Extra kits also available £5 per kit.

It is my birthday today and I am off shopping all day - just for things for me. As a mum you will understand this is an event that happens very seldom! As a crafter and a mum even more seldom as normally I spend all my spare cash on rubber - oo er! But today I am off shopping with my hubby to buy some new clothes and things. I will be back tomorrow with samples from last week's card class plus tomorrow night is my first ever scrapbook class so I will have the samples for those for you too.

Craft Club

Tonight's is our first night back at Craft Club, this is a fortnightly club that I host in our local memorial hall. You pay £7.50 to come along and make a selection of projects, there is no commitment you come as and when you choose. It is a great social evening as well as a crafty one. Here are the projects we will be making tonight....

The first is my fav using the Because I care hostess set, which I have delicately decoupaged with glue dots to give it a subtle depth. I have coloured the image with the 3 corresponding pink shades, pink pirouette, pretty in pink & regal rose. You really cannot go wrong with these pinks all together!

Next is a shabby chic card made using the SAB Bliss stamp set. It also incorporates the neutrals DSP paper stack - such great value 40 DOUBLE SIDED DSP sheets for just £15.95
.

Next a ''thinking of you card'' using another of the SAB stamp set plus Punch Potpourri. Monotone in Basic Grey and white.

A little bit of fun next with the bubblegum machine, containing skittles, that you can get to through the trap door! (which is visable underneath)

And lastly a quick ans simple bag and co ordinating card. Using the Jolly Holiday DSP - see its not just for Christmas! Again this showcases one of our SAB sets...
