Craft club

This Monday was our regular craft club, we meet fortnightly for a craft and catch up. This is what we made...

We have had the lovely Pauline join us recently so we have been revisiting some basic crafting tips along with our projects. For example making the most of your punches and using them in more ways then one and although our cupcake card looks the easiest it was also one of the fiddliest as we learnt how to make the gorgeous sentiment with layers all using the same punch.
I hope you like the projects must dash off to design something for my next class. They are coming thick and fast at the moment I have 2 classes tomorrow, 3 workshops next week a scrapbook class and my all day sat to top the fortnight off. So if I am away you will know why but I will try to pop on and show you what I am making.

I have spent this afternoon making my hostess gifts for the workshops I have over the next couple of weeks.

This idea is by no means mine in fact the very generous Michelle last ( no 1 demo of the year- no less) shared this beauties with me at a recent training I was lucky to attend with her. I am about to fill them with goodies but I can't tell you want they are cos that might spoil the surprise.
Want to get your hands on one of these gifts? Email me now and gather some friends for a crafty girly night.
Back soon with some more crafty goodness.

February's All day class

On the last Saturday of the month I always run an all day class, my customers have the choice of either coming just to the morning class which was an assortment of cards this month, or just to the afternoon class where we focus on 2 stamp sets, this month Aviary and Create a Cupcake. Or they can stay all day! I am always amazed by how many of my lovely ladies join me for all day, but then I guess we do have lots of fun. We had to say goodbye to one of our regular ladies this weekend as she is off travelling the world for 4 months - an amazing adventure but we will all miss her and her tales!

Anyway onto the projects,
I have discovered Pinterest recently and i can honestly say lots of this class came in some shape or form from inspiration I picked up on there. Should you not have discovered it and yet and wish to get an invite email me but be warned you can lose hours of your life!

Saturday Morning we had the following selection of cards to choose from:

Card 1 - Uses the gorgeous SAB everyday enchantment papers, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! With the equally gorgeous new flower die cut - Blossom Party. Again one of my new favourites.
Colour Combo - Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade.
Tip to make the flower really pop dauber each petal at the end with a slightly darker ink and shape with your bone folder.

Card 2 - This is uses Creative Elements Stamp set in Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede a colour combo I use a lot!

Card 3 - This is a CAS form the uber talented Monica, and enabled my ladies to revisit the baby wipe technique. Colour Combo Island Indigo, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.

Card 4 - This is a simple male birthday card , I always like to include at least one male card amongst the selection. I also wanted to 'teach' my ladies how to achieve stunning colouring without spending lots of time nor effort using our ink pads and our blender pens.
Stamp Set Young Vermilion, Colour Combo: Early Espresso, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Basis Grey.
A close up of my colouring, for a total non artist I think it has come out quite well. What do you think?

Card 4 - A simple one, this utilises the SAB stamps which I have to admit I wasn't too keen on til I started to use them and now I like them. The colour combo is Regal Rose and Perfect Plum. I also showed the ladies how to achieve this scallop rectangle with our big shot square die.

Lastly Card 6 - Another pinterest CAS, this is embossed vellum, I used our card stock vellum and it is just gorgeous. It was a very simple card yet it definitely had the WOW factor.

So that was the end of the morning session and on to the a home cooked lasagna for lunch with salad and garlic bread followed by a lush afternoon of yet more projects. Want to see?

Aviary Projects:
I wanted to have a fun and vibrant project to go with this stamp set so I chose Pacific Point, Tangerine tango and So Saffron  and I am delighted with how it turned out. Here is the pizza box style box with matching cards.

(Sorry for the blurry photos)

The last session of the afternoon was spent using the fabulous create a cupcake stamp set and matching punch. This class was CASd form the very talented Julie Kettlewell, thanks Julie you are an inspiration.

I hope you like seeing my class and if you would like to book my next class is 31st March where we will be seeing what we can come up with with the gorgeous Easter Blossoms and Charming Stamps.

I will be back soon

A special card for a special friend

My friend Olivia contacted me a little while ago and asked me if I would make a sapphire wedding card for her parents. I know Olivia likes sparkly but not too fussy so I opted for a tri fold square card. With plenty of sparkly rhinestones, some of my fav fancy flowers made from scrumpled vellum distressed with ink. The numbers were die cut using my fav big shot dies. I did have to use my computer to generate the text but otherwise all SU products!
I hope you like it, I know my friend was delighted with it and I hope her parents will be too.

Something special...

Here is something very different for me. Ages ago Catherine a fellow SU demo made her wedding table decorations and I wanted to try to make one for my room so eventually I have gotten around to making it. It has been a labour of love I don't know how Cathering had the patience to make as many as she did but I am thrilled with the results.

Believe it or not these flowers are all made using the fancy flower SU punch. I made roughly 10 of each colour and attached them with pearl headed pins to a foam ball.
The colour combo is Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. Each petal has been daubered with the next shade up in colour so the pretty in pink has been daubered in Regal Rose, the Crumb Cake in Soft Suede and the Soft Suede in Early Espresso. It took several hours to complete this project and the daubering was certainly labour intense but I am really pleased with how it has turned out.
I hope you like it as much as I do
